Adrian Tlahuext Aca grew up in Cuernavaca, México. He earned his B.S. and M.Sc. in chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. For his Ph.D he moved to Germany in 2014 to work under the supervision of Prof. Frank Glorius as a member of the NRW Graduate School of Chemistry. During this time he focused on the development of organic transformations relying on the combination of photoredox with transition-metal-based catalysis as well as organocatalysis. In July 2018, he received a UC MEXUS-CONACYT postdoctoral fellowship to join the Hartwig group. Outside lab, Adrian loves to play soccer, jogging and spending time with friends as well as watching the UEFA Champions league and tennis matches on TV.
