Chris grew up in the California North Bay in the town of Sebastopol. He went to Princeton University for undergraduate studies, with interests in chemistry, math, and philosophy. Chris did his senior thesis with Professor Josh Rabinowitz studying metabolism at the single cell level. He graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Chemistry. Chris developed a passion for organometallic chemistry during college. He joined the Hartwig group in the Fall 2013, and is now working on discovering new monometallic and bimetallic catalysts. Outside of lab, Chris has interests in government and politics, history, and nutrition. He enjoys hiking and backpacking with his brother and friends, watching movies, and taking country drives.
