Hiroki Hayashi was born in 1988 and grew up in Aichi, Japan. He obtained his BS degree in Nagoya University under the supervision of Prof. Kazuaki Ishihara in 2011 and began his PhD studies in the same group working on enantioselective oxidative coupling reactions catalyzed by hypoiodite salts. During his PhD studies, he joined the Hartwig group as a short-term visiting student researcher. After completing his PhD study in 2016, he came back to the group as a postdoctoral researcher. He is currently working on the development of artificial metalloenzyme catalysis. In his spare time, Hiroki enjoys the rock music, soccer and movies.
