Sophie Arlow was born in Bellevue, Washington in 1991. She received her bachelor's degree in chemistry and physics from Harvard University, where she worked in Prof. Tobias Ritter's group on late-stage deoxyfluorination. In 2013, she moved back to the west coast to pursue her interest in organometallic chemistry in the Hartwig group, where she is currently working on palladium and copper-catalyzed cross-coupling chemistry. Outside of the lab, Sophie enjoys hiking and backpacking, listening to music, and baking.
