Taegyo Lee was born in Incheon, South Korea in 1988. He received his B.S. in chemistry from Seoul National University, where he worked in Prof. Chulbom Lee's group on rhodium vinylidene-mediated reactions. Fascinated by the beauty of organometallic catalysis, he crossed the Pacific Ocean to come to Berkeley (of course, by plane) and joined the Hartwig group in 2013. Currently, he is working on directed C-H silylation chemistry. Outside the lab, he enjoys practicing tennis and watching his favorite TV show, the Big Bang Theory.
